What is a Tiktok Shop Specialist?

A TikTok Shop Specialist is a hybrid e-commerce and social-commerce professional responsible for managing and growing a company’s storefront on TikTok Shop — TikTok’s in-app marketplace where consumers discover and purchase products through shoppable videos, livestreams, the Shop Tab, and the platform’s affiliate creator network. They operate at the intersection of merchandising, paid media, creator partnerships, and content strategy to drive revenue directly within the TikTok ecosystem.

TikTok Shop Specialists stay current on platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging trends to keep product listings optimized and campaigns performing. Their expertise spans the TikTok Shop Seller Center, TikTok Ads Manager, and the Affiliate Center, enabling them to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) such as GMV, ROAS, and conversion rate while ensuring the brand’s shop remains compliant with TikTok’s fulfillment and listing-quality standards.

Job Duties
  • Manage end-to-end TikTok Shop Seller Center operations including product listings, order processing, inventory sync, and Shop Health monitoring.
  • Optimize product detail pages with keyword-rich titles, structured descriptions, high-resolution images, and product-demo videos to maximize discoverability and conversion.
  • Build, launch, and optimize TikTok Shop ad campaigns including GMV Max, Video Shopping Ads, Product Shopping Ads, and Spark Ads to hit ROAS and GMV targets.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage TikTok Shop affiliates and creators at scale through Open Collaboration and Target Collaboration plans, including sample seeding and commission structuring.
  • Plan and execute TikTok LIVE shopping events including run-of-show scripts, product selection, host coordination, and post-event performance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a shoppable content calendar with 3+ tagged videos per day, leveraging trending sounds, UGC formats, and brand-aligned hooks.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key metrics such as GMV, ROAS, CPA, CTR, CVR, and AOV using Seller Center Analytics, TikTok Ads Manager, and business intelligence tools.
